Crispian Riley-Smith is a local art dealer, standing for the Mundesley division - including Antingham, Bacton, Edingthorpe, Gimingham, Knapton, Mundesley, Northrepps, Overstrand, Paston, Sidestrand, Trimingham, and Trunch.

About Crispian

I work in the art market and, for eight years, worked in the auction houses in London. I then set up my own businesses 22 years ago and work as an art valuer, dealer, and fair organiser. I set up Crispian Riley-Smith Fine Arts Ltd, which is a valuation, consultancy, and dealership. I set up London Art Week in 2011 and am on the Board; and I set up and run/participate in Master Drawings New York.

When I was living in Yorkshire I was on the Parochial Church Council and helped with the cutting of grass in the village churchyard, attended PCC meetings, and took part in local activities. Since moving back to Norfolk I attend the church in Felmingham. I stood for the district seat of Mundesley in the 2019 local elections and have helped with canvassing for Duncan Baker in the 2019 General Election, as well as Duncan's 2020 Summer Constituency Tour.

My hobbies, apart from looking after my three children, dog, peacock, and fiancée, are learning to sail at Morston Quay; active cycling in Norfolk - especially on the Weaver's Way near North Walsham; and walking and swimming. I have done three long-distance runs - for Crisis, raising £1,500; and for British Red Cross; and walked 23 miles to raise money for Mind.

Priorities for Mundesley

  • Affordable homes: I want to assist with the planning and expansion of affordable homes for local people.
  • Conservation and the environment: Coastal erosion is a particular concern for those living along the North Norfolk coast, and I want to do everything possible to address this.
  • Tourism: Events and tourism play a vital part in our local economy. Particularly after the devastating effects of Covid-19, I want to help support local businesses in their recovery, and maximise the opportunities for growth.
