Michael Dalby - Wells
Download my election leaflet here.
Michael Dalby is a Care Assistant, currently training in mental health and adult nursing.
I'm pleased to be standing for Wells-next-the-Sea in the forthcoming election. I stood for the Coastal ward in the 2019 district elections and know the area and the town well. I've worked as a Care Assistant in a nursing home since I was 18, and am currently training in mental health and adult nursing, in which I will be fully qualified in 3-4 years time.
As we are coming out of the Covid-19 crisis, it's important that we support our local businesses and local economy, to begin a big recovery. In particular, I will support free parking in Wells-next-the-Sea to bring in more tourism and boost the local economy of this amazing part of North Norfolk. Helping to restart our tourism after a period where so many of our leisure and hospitality businesses have suffered will also be important.
Priorities for Wells-next-the-Sea
- Working to support local businesses and the economy, whilst respecting, protecting, and preserving the essential character of Wells - finding a balance between tourism and local people's needs
- Ensuring those who have homes in and around Wells but who do not live here all year round make a fair contribution to the town
- Working to bring more car parking to Wells, perhaps even an out-of-town Park and Ride scheme - and encouraging the offer of free parking as the town recovers from the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic
- Supporting arts and culture, particularly Wells Maltings, a fantastic venue which will also need further help and support to recover from the effects of the pandemic
