Resumption of Campaigning for the May Elections

Sunday, 11 April, 2021
Prince Philip

It has been agreed that the Conservative Party will take a UK-wide approach to the resumption of campaigning.

All campaigning will remain suspended until Tuesday morning, following a series of memorial speeches in Westminster, Holyrood and Cardiff on Monday. Furthermore, we will also suspend campaigning again on the day of Prince Philip's funeral, this coming Saturday. His sense of duty as a public figure was an example to us all, as was his devotion to his family and his good humour. His loss will be deeply felt across the Commonwealth and throughout the United Kingdom.

Across the political spectrum, it is right and fitting that we demonstrate our respect for his memory and our support for the Royal Family at this sad time.
