Pauline Porter (North Walsham East)
Download my election leaflet here.
Pauline Porter is a professional volunteer search technician with Norfolk Lowland Search and Rescue, and closely involved in flood resilience work in Walcott.
I moved to Norfolk with my family in 1990 and spent 12 years in Potter Heigham before moving to Walcott in 2004. I spent time as the Clerk to Ludham Parish Council, and was a founder member of Ludham and Potter Heigham Youth Club. I was also the Civil Protection Co-ordinator for Potter Heigham.
I was co-opted onto Walcott Parish Council in March 2012 and was elected Chair at the following meting. I attend as many meetings regarding local issues as I can at District Council and other venues - but currently on Zoom. I am the Parish Council representative on the Bacton Terminal Liaison Committee, the Coastal Forum, and previously the Bacton to Walcott Sandscaping Local Liaison Group. At the time of the December 2013 storm surge I was Community Resilience Co-ordinator, and played an active part in the recovery of the village. I was part of the working party that managed to achieve better drainage on the Coast Road, and we continue to work towards getting even more drains.
I am a professional volunteer search technician with Norfolk Lowland Search and Rescue, who are on call 24/7 to assist the police in searching for missing people. I hope to attend courses to become a Search Manager. My GSD puppy has recently been added to the search dog training team, and hopefully will eventually make the grade to become a fully-fledged trailing dog.
