Cllr Richard Price is the current county councillor for the South Smallburgh division.
About Richard
Having spent some 40 years in the hotel and restaurant industry, I now have the privilege of continuing to serve in a different way. I was first elected to North Norfolk District Council in 2007, and then became able to serve more villages as a County Councillor in 2017. Over the past four years I have been a member of the Norfolk Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee, ensuring that our health concerns are recognised. I also sit on the County Scrutiny Committee representing your views.
I make a huge effort to attend parish council meetings across the division, and have a close relationship with parish clerks, who can rely on my taking forward all concerns with County, as well as working with our MP, Duncan Baker, who is a close friend of many years. I also represent Norfolk on the Regional Flood and Coastal Committee, which covers Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, where I am able to highlight flooding issues in Norfolk.
I remain totally committed and available to serve the population and listen to and resolve issues, using all the experience I have gained over the last 14 years.
Priorities for South Smallburgh
- I will continue funding methods for road safety and speeding in our villages, having provided and financed five villages with Sam 2 speed cameras already. The new Conservative County Council budget proposes that this County Councillors' Highways Budget be increased, with an increase in scope which will enable me to help more.
- I will continue doing everything I can to resolve flooding issues, which have had such a devastating effect for far too long.
- I will use all the County opportunities to help local businesses and private citizens recover safely after Covid-19.
